November

Only a little bit of sewing has been going on here but I hope to pick up the pace this week. I have been piecing a fun little quilt that started with the gift I received from Carrie Nelson at Moda.  There were 2 charm packs in the box of American Jane fabric from her Lorraine line. Then I found a cute pattern A.Jane had designed for it called Petite Petal Points. It didn't look too complicated but for the life of me I couldn't guess how the pieces were cut to make the most of a charm piece. I found it pretty interesting when I got the pattern in my hands.

So I'm slowly working my way through cutting and piecing.  Having fun with it.

At PIQF, I picked up a couple of little wool quilt kits from one of my favorites,  Sew Cherished. The pieces are fused on with my ONLY fusible now, Soft Fuse (I have learned the hard way and thrown out all my other JUNKY fusible!). and then blanket stitched around the edges with a little embroidery for the branches.
Just in time for Autumn celebrations.
Another little Autumn decoration is a gift from fellow blogger and PIQF visitor, Joy of Joyful Quilter. She stitched this lovely black eyed susan and red flowers and then put them in this wonderful copper frame. I love it! Thank you again, Joy! I love meeting up with you at the show :-)

  2. I like the wool pumpkin piece that you made. I am really into fall right now though it hasn't really arrived here in Florida.

Your pumpkin wall hanging is adorable! Nice finish.

Love the petite petals blocks...hmmm they might look good in the medallion quilt I want to make.

  4. Joy made you the cutest piece. I really want to get back to my blog friends and reconnect. These past years a blur. Always fun to pop in and see what you've been up to. The petal blocks intrigue me. I see how you cut the print charm...at least I think. But I'm guessing the background I is larger than 5" before cutting, they are really cute! Just might play around with it when I feel better. Caught myself an icky head cold this weekend.

What a sweet little stitchery your were gifted - I do love the little frame and will have to keep my eyes peeled for potential frames when I am out thrifting!
